A selection of short hand drawn animation loops built from larger illustrations, character concepts, and isolated visual gags.
Each piece was designed to work as a compact internet GIF. quick to read, repetitive without getting dead, and strong enough to live on its own outside the larger image.
Loops & GIFs
Headspace
Type: Self-initiated animation loop
Role: Illustration, frame-by-frame animation, GIF design
Format: Animated GIF / frame sheet
Headspace began as an animation element from a larger illustration project, but the spinning severed head had enough dumb momentum to work as its own standalone loop.
The piece was isolated and rebuilt as a short internet GIF, using repetition, rotation, and a simple gross out gag.
Boop
Type: Commissioned digital animation
Role: Character adaptation, illustration, frame-by-frame animation, GIF design
Format: Animated GIF / frame sheet
Boop was created as a short animated GIF for a digital project built around a cat face logo.
The brief was to take the existing logo and push it into a more character led direction, so I reworked it as a 90s style cartoon cat playing a handheld game.
Each button press triggers the repeated “boop” gag, turning a their brand mark into a small animated moment.
Squeeeze
Type: Self-initiated animation loop
Role: Illustration, frame-by-frame animation, character animation
Format: Animated GIF / frame sheet
Squeeeze is a short hand drawn loop built around a tiny squeeze toy.
The animation started as a small element within a larger animation, but the physical gag was strong enough to pull out and treat as its own GIF.
The loop focuses on simple squash, pressure, and release.
